digitalminimalism

I am both interested in technology as well as minimalism -- therefore, I am largely a target demographic for Newport's latest book 'Digital Minimalism', which looks to apply a full philosophy of minimalism with regards to our digital lives.

I found the book interesting and moderately rewarding. Having given up most social networking quite some time ago, there was not much for me to be sold on. However, his segments tying digital minimalism to Thoreau I found particularly rewarding and interesting. It has motivated me in many ways to double down on examining my digital life, making sure the rewards are higher than the cost, and implementing more rigor around purposeful, non-digital leisure.

Overall, it's a book I'd recommend, especially for those who have an interest in extending their personal philosophies into the digital domain.
